FLY-HALF Ross Thompson is ready to write his own chapter into a rich sporting family history as Scotland prepare for their opener in against South Africa in Rosario on Tuesday.
Thompson’s grandfather Eric Thompson, who passed away in 1992, was recently inducted into the Scottish Cricket Hall of Fame after a stellar international career between 1965 and 1977. And his cousin Kirsty Gilmour, 25, is a double Commonwealth Games medallist in badminton.
