BURY swept aside a hapless Old Boys side amid bitterly cold conditions but on a snow-free pitch, as Reds struggled defensively all day long.
The Wolfpack forwards got Bury going with two quick tries for Alexander Grey and Sam Bixby, and then created the platform for the backs to kick on.
Reds did briefly look like getting on terms when Corey Talbot pounced on an overthrown line out to drag the score back to 17 – 7 midway through the first half - that was as good as it got for the visitors.
