BERNIE Ecclestone reckons the private equity firm CVC will be on a mission to “tartup” rugby, and rather than making do with a 27 per cent share of the English Premiership they signed for recently, what they really want is control of the global game.
The former Formula One magnate said he had told CVC that Rugby Union has great potential: “If you got hold of the guys and tarted them up it would be better than American Football”, Ecclestone said in a Mail on Sunday interview.
