Agony for Brixham as last kick is wide

BRIXHAM missed a lastminute conversion as they were held to a 22-22 draw by Newton Abbot.
Abbot opened the scoring with a penalty before Jean-Pierre Simonetti went over for the visitors, but three more penalties gave Newton a 12-7 lead at the break. Abbot grabbed their opening try after the break as they ran into a 22-7 lead. That’s when the game changed as Kyle Mason scored a second try before full-back Tom Goodman pulled it back further.
With moments remaining, Simonetti crossed, but the conversion was missed.
