Top dogs Bournemouth get early fright

BOURNEMOUTH top the table at Christmas by seven points after getting the better of title rivals Barnstaple with a 16-7 win.
The leaders who have lost once in their opening 13 matches, went behind early on, despite the ball being dropped on the line as it was touched down.
Bournemouth responded through two Davies penalties to draw them back to 7-6 at half-time. The visitors took the lead early in the second half when a quickly-taken penalty was touched down through a ruck of bodies.
Grant Hancox secured the victory with a third penalty kick of the match for Bournemouth.
