Carnegie set to swoop for Antipodean reinforcements

INJURY-HIT Yorkshire Carnegie have put out contract offers to half-a-dozen players in a bid to bring in immediate reinforcements.
Having been hit by injuries to several senior players, Carnegie find themselves bottom of the Championship with the squad in dire need of strengthening.
One of the players they are hoping to bring to Headingley is former Wales international tighthead prop Craig Mitchell.
Mitchell, right, spent the tail-end of last season at Carnegie and is currently on a three-month shortterm deal at Newcastle.
