COLIN Boag rightly states (August 12) that the Rugby Championship needs a new formula. Additionally, for the good of the game, NZ should lose.
A three-match format – two home and one away – alternating yearly would shorten and intensify the competition. Also in alternate years it would handicap
New Zealand. Scarcity would make it more attractive commercially like NFL which has only 16 matches a year.
