I’M totally at a loss as to why England would look to bring in John Mitchell to replace Paul Gustard when he is not a defence coach specialist.
England’s defence was appalling in South Africa so what do the management do, look to bring in a coach of a team that had one of the worst defensive records in the whole of Super Rugby.
Where is the logic? Mitchell would be better suited to an attack role, another area of confusion. I am all for the ‘best man for the job’ policy currently in vogue at the RFU but it’s crazy when they will be willing to pay for someone ...
