What price for loyalty?

LONG after football abandoned the value of the one-club man, rugby is doing the same. Matt Banahan’s exit from Bath after 12 years is a demoralising example that loyalty ain’t what it used to be.
The Channel Islander bowed out with a hat-trick last week against London Irish. Bath duly acclaimed his service over the years as ‘fantastic’ which rather begged the question why they were letting him go, not just to any other club but to arch-rivals Gloucester.
