WASPS forward Ashley Johnson has been suspended by the RFU after failing a drugs test.
He is accused of testing positive for a ‘prohibited substance’ – understood to be a diuretic – in an out-ofcompetition test on February 7.
The 31-year-old last featured in Wasps’ 24-16 win over London Irish on March 4.
Wasps said the player is “investigating the possible source of the substance’ and that “both he and the club are co-operating fully with the RFU”.
Diuretics can facilitate weight loss and act as a masking agent.
