ONE East leaders Brynmawr needed extra time to see off a brave Nelson 27- 24 to claim their place in the WRU National Plate final at the Principality Stadium.
After a tense 80 minutes at Llanharan, the score was locked at 24-24 with both sides going over three times.
Gavin Knapp, Geraint Langdon and Rob Norris went over for Brynmawr and Lloyd Ford, Alec Jones and Josh Williams touched down for Nelson.
