Tahiti find players are ineligible – five years after they started!

WORLD Rugby so reluctant to get involved in the controversial World Cup qualifier in Brussels, acted decisively enough this week to intervene and throw Tahiti out of the World Cup qualifying process after the small Pacific nation were deemed to have fielded two ineligible players during their ‘shock’ 13-9 win over the Cook Islands last August.
That victory, the biggest in their history, appeared to earn Tahiti a place in the cross regional play-off in June against the winner of the forthcoming Asia Championships which will be either South Korea, Hong Kong or Malaysia. Instead th...
