WALES’ narrow victory over France in front of a sell-out Cardiff crowd secured them a second-place Six Nations finish and boosted the Welsh Rugby Union coffers by £3.5million, but this was a turgid Test match which did nothing to excite the viewer.
A win and a Welsh runners- up spot will be causes for positivity for head coach Warren Gatland. But by the same token, the 80 minutes at Principality Stadium seemed to sum up the New Zealander’s side right now as they were dragged into a dogfight by Les Bleus.
