Clive Griffiths witnessed the evils of apartheid South Africa during a rugby tour there almost 40 years ago and thought he had seen the last of it. Within months of returning home, the newly-capped Wales full back found himself a victim of ‘rugby apartheid’, shunned and ostracised by Rugby Union because they deemed him guilty of the heinous crime of converting to Rugby League.
