Eddie Jones says lessons will be learnt following England’s abysmal defeat against France. But the big lessons won’t be learnt because the right questions aren’t asked for fear of upsetting the all- powerful Premiership clubs.
Those questions are:
1. Might central contracts be desirable, given that Ireland – with a far smaller playing base – frequently perform better than England by having their leading players under the control of the IRFU?
