SHEFFIELD Tigers claimed their first victory of the new year at the expense of Macclesfield, to end a run of nine straight defeats.
A try from hooker William Archer midway through the first-half and a successful penalty off the tee by Tigers fly-half Mark Ireland was enough to ensure a first home victory since November.
Marshall Gadd’s Blues arrived in Yorkshire on the back of four wins from six since taking over and had chances of their own either side of the interval to challenge the scoreboard but failed to capitalise....
