Lower league talent will be missed until the RFU take action

NICK CAIN reports (TRP 28/1) that ‘Premiership ring-fencers are mobilising again for another big push aimed at ending promotion and relegation’.
As he wrote, once Bristol are safely installed in the top league, the pressure for official ring-fencing will increase. Even London Irish would be sacrificed.
Ambitious clubs such as Coventry, Ealing and Cornish Pirates are not wanted, and, like London Welsh and Rotherham before them, would find all sorts of obstacles placed in front of them if they did win the Championship. Ringfencing already exists, whether officially or not.
