CROSSKeys recorded a tight victory over Pontypridd in the first round of the WRU National Cup at Sardis Road. Keys opened the scoring with a brace of early penalties from Josh Prosser to hand the home side a 6-0 lead.
Greg Woods’ men extended their advantage with a long range try from Josh Skinner with Prosser adding the extras to make it 13-0 just before the 20- minute mark.
But a spirited Pontypridd hit back and got their way back into the game with a short range try from Chris Dicomidis. Ceri Sweeney also added a penalty minutes before half-time.
