Spirited Blaydon rally but Blues hold firm

MACCLESFIELD proved too strong for a youthful Blaydon side as they ran out winners in a 13-try thriller.
The main difference was the goal kicking of fly-half Tom Morton, who was flawless from the tee throughout.
From the kick-off, two Blaydon defenders failed to control the bounce and Macclesfield winger James Hampson nipped in to score after just 20 seconds.
