Mallinder paid ‘for not axing coach West’

JIM Mallinder’s loyalty to “old school” forwards coach Dorian West contributed to his downfall at Northampton, according to former Saints wing Ian Hunter.
Mallinder was fired last week after more than ten years at the club, but Hunter, now a pundit on local radio who retains close ties with Northampton, believes the Yorkshireman might still be in a job had he sacked his wing-man West two years ago.
