A TOBY Flood-inspired second half helped Newcastle overcome Nottingham yesterday and make it two wins in two games in the same afternoon at Kingston Park.
After defeating Doncaster 31-8 in the first game of this doubleheader, it took only eight minutes for the Falcons to open the scoring against Nottingham thanks to the powerful Simon Uzokwe. Jimmy Stevens got the visitors on the board from a rolling maul but a fabulous team try, concluded by Brett Connon, made sure Newcastle led 14-12 at the break despite a second Nottingham try to Murray McConnell.
