Mallinder misses out to Wasps flier Howe

WASPS’ wing Tom Howe has won the Anglo-Welsh Cup breakthrough player award.
Howe won a public vote from a ten-strong shortlist of young stars with Northampton’s Harry Mallinder runner-up and Jack Willis also of Wasps coming third.
Howe, 21, also impressed at the 2016 Premiership 7s where he scored in the final as Wasps won the tournament.
Howe cut his teeth at Beaconsfield RFC and has enjoyed loan spells at Championship side Jersey Reds and also with Coventry in National One this season. He has signed for Worcester Warriors for the 2017-18 campaign.
