Glasgow sign Stormers fly-half

Glasgow have brought in fly-half Brandon Thomson on a two-month deal as cover for Finn Russell during the .
The South African has started training with his new teammates already and adds depth to the half-back position as Peter Horne is currently out with an ankle injury.
The 21-year-old is a former player and has already played six times for the Stormers in scoring 26 points.
Thomson said: “I was over in Zimbabwe playing a warm-up game for the Stormers when I got the call to say I could fly over here and it all happened pretty quickly.
“I came over with the main goal of getting some experience and it’s good to play in a different environment and for a great club.
“I’m structured, physical and I like to run the ball out wide and keep the game loose.
“My father is from , so it’s nice to be able to come over here to play.”
Warriors head coach said: “It’s a bonus for us to be able to bring in someone of Brandon’s quality and potential during a period when we have a number of players away on Test duty.
“He has fitted in really well so far and even training in the snow yesterday didn’t seem to phase him!
“We look forward to seeing how he performs over the next few weeks and we’d like to thank Western Province for their support.”
also confirmed that 23-year-old Scotland wing Rory Hughes has signed a new two-year deal keeping him at Scotstoun until May 2019.
Hughes has received to caps for Scotland with his most recent coming in the win over Georgia at Park in November and he has also represented Scotland 7s.
Hughes said: “I’m delighted to be staying at Scotstoun for another couple of years.
“It was an easy decision to stay in my home city and continue to playRory  for my home club.
“I’ve been enjoying my rugby this season, especially playing at Scotstoun with the boys in front of the crowd and although my injury has set me back I’m eager to get back out on the pitch soon.
“I’m looking forward to Dave Rennie coming in next season. He’s done a lot in Super Rugby and with the U20s and has a lot of knowledge, so it’ll be good to learn from him.”
