Harlequins Samoan international hooker Elia Elia has signed a contract extension to remain at the club until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old joined from Canterbury in New Zealand, where he was in the Crusaders development squad, to provide injury cover on a short-term deal in early December.
Elia made a big impression on the Harlequins coaching staff when Samoa joined Quins for a shared training session in the autumn internationals.
He made his test debut for Samoa against France in the 2016 autumn internationals and was capped three times in that period.
Harlequins Director of Rugby John Kingston said: “I am delighted that we have extended Elia’s contract.
“In his short time here he has made a big impression and I have no doubt he will be pressing the existing hookers for regular game time.”
