Tom Casson to join Yorkshire Carnegie

Yorkshire Carnegie have completed their seventh signing of the close season with the signing of centre Tom Casson on a two-year contract.
Casson, 25, joins fellow new signings Seb Stegmann, Dean Schofield, Kevin Sinfield MBE, Joel Hodgson, Tom Ryder and Andy Saull.
He said: “I’ve been at Harlequins for five years now and I’ve loved every minute of it; I’d like to thank everyone who has made it so enjoyable. Winning the LV= Cup in 2013 was a stand-out moment for me as I won playing alongside some really close friends.
“I’m really excited to join Carnegie, it provides a new opportunity for me; I’m looking forward to being closer to my family and beginning a new challenge in my career.”
Director of Chris Gibson added: “We are delighted to have attracted a player of the calibre of Tom to the club. He is very highly regarded by Harlequins both as a player and a person and I am sure he will fit in well in our squad.”
Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea commented: “I have known Tom since he was 17 and wish him all the best for the future.
“He remains an outstanding prospect and if he can get a good run of games with Yorkshire Carnegie, I have no doubt he will prove again that he has what it takes to make it at the highest level of the game. He is one of the good guys, whom I will miss on a personal level and I would like to thank him for everything he has contributed over the years to the success we have had.”
