Sale Sharks today announced that Magnus Lund has signed a new two-year deal with the club until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
The former England flanker, 31, in his second spell at the club after six years spent in Biarritz, has been one of the stand-out players for the Sharks this season.
A product of the club’s Academy and made his debut in 2002 against Bristol Shoguns and has won 10 England Caps.
He said: “I am delighted to have signed a new deal with the club. We have a good group of players here and I firmly believe the club is moving in the right direction. Lets hope we can push on now and make the top six which was our pre-season target.”
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond added: “I was delighted to sign Magnus in the summer and he has fitted in perfectly with the squad. Magnus has played in 20 games this season and his consistent performances attracted the interest of two other Premiership clubs looking to try and sign him. Thankfully he has signed a new deal with us for the next two years.”
