1. Queuing
I think queuing, whether it’s in traffic or supermarkets, is completely unnecessary and painful. I know we’re supposed to be a nation of queue-lovers, but I think most people just join them so that they can whinge. In a supermarket I always go looking for the least busy cashier. But, that said, it nearly always backfires on me. Loads of times I think I’ve done a smart manoeuvre only to find that the cashier in question is clocking off their shift just as I arrive or they’ve ran out of till roll. Not having any patience has got the better of me a few times.
TRP verdict: Go wild in the aisles, you’re in
2. Fussy eaters
It winds me up when people refuse to try anything new to eat. Generally speaking I’d like to think we’re fairly high brow at Nottingham when it comes to cuisine! Nandos? No thanks. For me it is just over-priced chicken. We do have a vacancy for a chef though so maybe we upset the old one. Toby Freeman and Dan Mugford are probably the exceptions to the rule; they stick to a couple of plain dishes and that’s about it.
TRP verdict: Entrée into Room 101!
3. Z-List celebrity opinions
Why the media canvasses the opinion of ‘celebs’ from shows such as The Only Way Is Essex or Made In Chelsea on current affairs is beyond me. They are either famous for being rich or stupid. What next…Joey Essex on Question Time? Some newspapers even pay them to have their own columns. Unbelievable!
TRP verdict: Agreed, soap-box, soap-stars put us in a lather too.
